Terms and Conditions
Last updated: June 11, 2025
These Terms and Conditions apply to all Fix-It-or-Forget-It™ Assessments and any related services offered by Sole Source Concrete Repair.

1. Purpose of Inspection The Fix-It-or-Forget-It™ Assessment offered by Sole Source Concrete Repair:
The Fix-It-or-Forget-It™ Assessment is a non-invasive, visual inspection of concrete surfaces intended to help property owners:
-
Understand the condition of visible cracks, shifting, or surface deterioration
-
Evaluate potential risks or areas of concern
-
Decide whether preventative or corrective repair is recommended
This service is designed to offer clarity, not certification. It does not replace a formal home inspection, structural engineering evaluation, or municipal code compliance assessment.
2. No Licensing or Engineering Certification:
Sole Source Concrete Repair is not a licensed engineering firm and does not provide structural certifications, foundation engineering, or formal building inspections. Our assessments are based on:
-
Practical field experience in concrete repair
-
Best practices in visible damage identification
-
Surface-level observations, not subsurface diagnostics We make no claim of certification or licensing in structural assessment.
3. Scope and Limitations The Fix-It-or-Forget-It™ Assessment:
-
Focuses on surface-level concrete health
-
Does not include underground analysis, soil movement testing, or structural evaluation
-
Is based solely on what is visibly accessible at the time of the inspection
-
May be limited by access, weather conditions, lighting, or time constraints
Sole Source Concrete Repair recommends consulting a licensed structural engineer for:
-
Load-bearing concrete concerns
-
Deep foundational cracks
-
Property transactions or legal disputes
4. Use of Visuals and Assessment Information:
All notes, photos, videos, and recommendations provided by Sole Source Concrete Repair are based on a surface-level, non-invasive assessment. They are intended to help clients make informed decisions about visible damage and repair options. While our Fix-It-or-Forget-It™ Risk Report offers a structured and professional overview of visible damage, it is not a formal inspection under provincial or engineering standards.
We may retain anonymized photos from your assessment for internal training or marketing unless requested otherwise in writing.
5. Limitation of Liability By requesting or receiving a Fix-It-or-Forget-It™ Assessment from Sole Source Concrete Repair, you agree that:
-
Our assessment is based on visible surface symptoms only
-
We are not responsible for damages resulting from unseen or developing issues not identified in our visual inspection
-
Any repair recommendations are suggestions, not guarantees of structural performance or future results
-
Clients assume responsibility for further evaluation or testing as needed
6. Payment and Service Terms Assessments:
May be provided free of charge or at a reduced cost as part of a promotional offering. Any follow-up repair work booked with Sole Source Concrete Repair is subject to a separate written service agreement.
7. Governing Law These Terms and Conditions:
Shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada. Any disputes shall be handled under the jurisdiction of Alberta courts.
8. Surface Repair Scope & Limitations:
Surface repairs performed by Sole Source Concrete Repair — including crack filling, patching, and blending — are intended to:
-
Reduce safety risks
-
Minimize further deterioration
-
Extend the usable life of the concrete
Repairs are not designed to restore the original structural integrity or factory-finished appearance of the concrete. Some color variation, surface texture difference, or visible crack outline may remain after repair. These are normal and do not indicate failure of the service.
The primary goal of repair is functional improvement, not cosmetic restoration.
9. Trip Hazard Notification Clients:
Are responsible for clearly identifying all areas of concern, including trip hazards. Sole Source Concrete Repair does not assume liability for unreported hazards. If the area continues to pose a risk after repair, it is the client’s responsibility to limit access or apply additional warning measures.
10. Subcontractor Use Sole Source Concrete Repair:
May, at its discretion, subcontract specific services (such as concrete lifting, coatings, plumbing, or electrical work) to qualified third-party providers. All subcontracted work will be reviewed to ensure it meets the standards agreed upon in the service agreement.
11. Lifting Limitations (if applicable):
Concrete lifting services are intended to raise uneven slabs where applicable. However, due to varying soil conditions and pre-existing voids, perfect leveling is not guaranteed. Post-lift cracks, new separation lines, or slab re-settling may occur over time and are considered common risks.
12. Guarantees & Warranty Eligibility:
Sole Source Concrete Repair offers written workmanship guarantees for many of its services. Not all repairs are eligible for extended or transferable coverage.
If a SoleGuard™ Limited Lifetime Guarantee or other extended protection is included, it will be clearly stated in your written quote or invoice.

13. Scheduling and Weather Delays:
Outdoor services are weather-dependent. Sole Source Concrete Repair reserves the right to reschedule any job due to:
-
Rain
-
Standing water
-
Freezing temperatures
-
Unsafe or unworkable site conditions
Clients will be notified as early as possible and rescheduled at the next available opportunity.

14. Payment & Services Terms:
A deposit of 30% is due upon booking. The remaining balance is due upon completion unless otherwise specified in writing. Accepted payment methods include e-transfer, cash, credit card, cheque, or Bitcoin. Interest may be charged on overdue accounts after 15 days.
All pricing, product offerings, and service recommendations are tailored to each property and client.
Sole Source Concrete Repair may present tiered packages to one client and individual add-ons to another, depending on the scope, conditions, urgency, and overall repair goals.
Quotes are not standardized or one-size-fits-all — they are crafted based on visible conditions, client priorities, and what we believe will deliver the most value in that specific context.
15. Client Access and Preparation:
The client is responsible for:
-
Providing clear access to all work areas (including removing vehicles, obstacles, or debris)
-
Keeping pets, children, and guests away from active work zones
-
Marking or identifying any underground utilities, irrigation lines, drainage systems, or in-slab electrical features before work begins
-
Informing Sole Source Concrete Repair of any known issues with water drainage, prior repairs, or sub-base conditions
Sole Source Concrete Repair is not responsible for damage to unmarked or undisclosed underground utilities or systems. Clients are encouraged to call Alberta One Call or use a private locator service prior to any slab lifting, drilling, or grinding. Failure to do so may result in rescheduling or additional charges.
16. Right to Refuse Service:
Sole Source Concrete Repair reserves the right to refuse or cancel service at any time for reasons including but not limited to unsafe conditions, withheld information, verbal abuse, or site conditions not as described.
